I celebrated my 72nd birthday and gave thanks for my family on the 28th of November - that is all I need.

We have Kwaanza candles and traditional xmas decorations like a tree (no nativity type stuff tho). We say Happy Holidays and exchange gifts. We did not celebrate any of it when I was a child and never had a tree etc. It's a vacation time and we do a lot of charity work. The only time I was in a church coming up was for funerals. I did take Kiss when she asked to. She's got friends that are every faith in the world so has exposure to everything for her to choose. She has been brought up to think of it as a Giving time to those with less, even when we had nothing.

We decorate for both. We are not christian and it is I guess just a fun gift giving and good deeds giving and family and fun with pretty lights. Mainly its the time the kids and my husband are all out of school so its that great togetherness two weeks.
