Show of hands; how many of you have seen your names on that outstanding Hylton-Joyce Family Tree (now filled with over 3,500 names)? My apologies to the historians, especially Cousin Lawrence Hylton, but I took liberty and created a very, very, very rough (short) video and slideshow teaser for those who have not seen the tree yet! A better version is coming soon. http://roanokerelatives.weebly.com/hilton-side-family-notes.html. It is my understanding that it will be on display in Charlotte, NC at the 2013 family reunion. I know this teaser is rough and unpolished, but what the hey. Thoughts about the tree or my efforts to spread the word?

I am the daughter of John L Draper aka Harvey son of Frank Draper on the family tree. You may have been contacted by my brother, Kamau Tyeimba who probably bought you up to date on our family. I was amazed, humbled, excited and completely overwhelmed by the amount of time and research that went in to creating this document. After so many years of knowing very little about my family I am proud to share my heritage with my son Jayson Talieb Harvey and my daughter Linsay Morgan Harvey Jones and my granddaughter Olivia Michael Stanton. Thank you so much for sharing this information.

Hi Cousin Beverly Jo Harvey, thank you for the kind words. Cousin Lawrence Hylton and the elders did the really hard work of creating the family tree and researching so much of our family history. Me? Yes, I had also already started my own family research, and created this website, but again, the hard work goes to others. But it makes me feel good to know that many friends and relatives have now discovered our/this family website. I just sent Kamau a special link that has more info about Annie Hylton / Annie Draper. I hope it is also helpful. Please help me spread the word, and let's talk. Keith -- [email protected]

Hi Cousin Pamela. First of all, my sister Rev. Gayle Hilton Johnson of Raleigh, NC will be pleased to know that there is another Delta in the family. :) I think we have relatives who are members of all of the Divine 9 groups. I am really humbled to know that there are so many relatives AND friends all over who have so much respect for the history of our family. I am glad that we have now connected. Please give my regards to your daughters and all. Let them know that they also have cousins of all ages that they should now connect with -- just as we have now done. Keith

Habari gani Pam? It is good to see you here. Would you also share those scroll and book that "details several generations of our family" with me as well? As stated by you, my sister and Keith, this is most exciting. I am hoping that I am able to get to Martinsville this year and it would be an absolute joy to know who I'm talking to when I get there. BTW - Keith, I lost track of the way(s) to participate in this weekend's national family dialogue. Would you please send that info to my e-mail address? I don't navigate FB too well. My e-mail address is [email protected]. Asante (thank you), Kamau.
