Mother Ruby Muhammad of Sacramento, California passed away in 2011 at the age of 113. We honored her on her 110th birthday by featuring her in the April 2007 episode of the CV Drum News. At the time of her passing, she was also the oldest subscriber to my publication. Have you ever known or met anyone over 100 years old?

Yes, my Aunt Kate, that I lovingly called "Grandma" who lived to be 110. She took care of me from the time I was 6 months old, and when I turned 23, I took care of her until she died 7 years later. I do miss her so.

My Great Aunt Everleen Moorman Byrd. She lived to see 100 and received her birthday card from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama! The first black president!! She was estatic! We honored her on December 3, 2011 and she departed this earthly life in February 2012. I'm so proud to have known someone this seasoned. Her last words to me were..."Always talk to GOD". Words of Wisdom from the Wise!!

Cousin Leartis Martin, I know that we should not have (or at least minimize our) regrets in life, but I wish I could have met her as well. True, those are words of wisdom from the Wise.

"Always talk to GOD," is what Cousin Leartis Martin said were the last words of her 100 year old Great Aunt Everleen Moorman Byrd.
