Are there more doctors in our family? If so, please let me know by posting a comment or two on our family blog page. I had a very nice conversation with LeQuan Hylton of Richmond, Virginia (January 2014), and have now added him to the list. He is working on his doctorate at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. No, everyone does not need to be a doctor, but at least our youth need to know they have options and role models. By the way, does anyone know the difference between a doctoral student and a doctoral candidate? Thoughts about this post and the importance of education?

We gotta get more of our younger generation to just not go to school, but actually go into a classroom...before we can hope for more doctors...otherwise they will continue to come from the East...

My name is Cheryl Lucinda Hylton Rucker. Please add my daughter, Alexandra Cheri Rucker, to the list of doctors in the family. Alex graduated from George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) and currently is an Attending Physician in the Emergency Department at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. where she completed her residency and fellowship.

I just posted Alex's info. The list continues to grow. I think we are establishing a positive and achievable bar for our younger relatives and friends.
