Roll Call. Millions of people and families now celebrate Kwanzaa worldwide from December 26 - January 1. When (year) and where (place) did you first celebrate it? I first wrote about Kwanzaa in the late 1970s, but the first time I celebrated it was in 1980, Queens, New York. I have also celebrated Kwanzaa in Jamaica. Since being in California, I have met the founder of Kwanzaa, Dr. Maulana Karenga. Roll Call. If you haven't yet celebrated Kwanzaa, this year is as good a time as any. So again, when (year) and where (place) did you first celebrate it?

Recently in Northern California, we experienced a 6.1 earthquake. I have experienced earthquakes in California (and even one on Long Island, NY), tornadoes in Illinois and Nebraska, and hurricanes, and would not wish any of these on anyone, but my two-part question this month is; (1) have you ever experienced any of these and (2) which do you think sounds more frightening?
