Carver-Addison University (proposed)
In addition to Southwestern Virginia high schools such as Lucy Addison High School in Roanoke City and George Washington Carver High School in Salem (Roanoke County), we also honor and salute the memories of other African-American high schools in the region that are no longer in existence or operating as high schools, including Albert Harris in Martinsville, Susie Gibson in Bedford, Dunbar in Lynchburg, Lee M. Waid in Franklin County, Christiansburg Institute in Christiansburg, Central High/Bland High in Wise County, John M. Langston in Danville, Southside High in Blairs, Northside High in Gretna, Mary M. Bethune in Halifax, Lucy Simms High in Harrisonburg. Did we miss any? If so, please let us know. Thank you.
